Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
(First verse and chorus from the hymn: Are You Washed in the Blood of the Lamb?)
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
(Isaiah 10:27 KJV)

A yoke is typically a wooden harness placed around the necks of oxen or mules for agricultural use. The yoke binds together the two animals, and metaphorically, it can speak of bondage. This could refer to slavery to a superior power or anything that binds us. Sin is a powerful binding force in our lives, yet the anointing (the power of God’s Spirit) is able to destroy the yoke of bondage!
“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”
(John 8:34)
God’s anointing can break chains of sin that hold us captive. The power of His Holy Spirit can help us to overcome the power of sin. There is hope through Christ—He is the answer.
Through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we can now have the victory over sin, and His blood will cleanse us.
There is salvation in His name!
There is deliverance in His name!
There is healing in His name!
There is victory in His name!
The mighty name of Jesus!
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12)
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
(1 John 1:7)
God the Father sent Jesus Christ to be the Saviour of mankind, to destroy yokes over our lives and deliver us from the Devil’s oppression:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
(Acts 10:38)
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
(1 John 3:8)
He wants us to look to Him and trust Him. The Son of God alone has the power to deliver us from all forms of bondage that cause us to walk in defeat and rob us of freedom. Many can testify to His power, having already been set free. He came to set the captives free.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
(Luke 4:18)
Christ cleanses, saves, forgives, restores, and sets free. His blood has truly atoned for our sin. John the Baptist made a great proclamation concerning the Lord Jesus Christ:
“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
(John 1:29)
